Neighbours on TV vs reality

It's definitely different in real life

Being a neighbour on TV is so much more emotional and chaotic than in real life, here are 10 of the biggest differences...

TV - You know everyone's name. Reality - Christmas cards go to the house number, 'Merry Christmas to all at number 5'.

TV - You go to the local every night. Reality - A polite nod is the closest you get to socialising.

TV - Everyone hooks up. Reality - You probably can't pick half your neighbours out of a line up, never mind end up dating them.

TV - You have bust ups in the streets. Reality - Aggression is limited to polite notes through the letter box.

TV - You can rely on them for anything. Reality - You barely know their names.

TV - Nobody has cars. Reality - We are fighting constantly for parking spots.

TV - House parties happen all year round. Reality - You keep the music to a minimum to prevent an aggressive knock at the door.

TV - There's the lovable bad boy. Reality - Any crime loving neighbours aren't welcome.

TV - Everyone walks in without knocking. Reality - Close neighbours only get a key to feed the pets when we're on holiday.

TV - People proclaim their love in the streets. Reality - There'd be far too much curtain twitching if we did that.

With all the drama we're glad we don't really live in the world of soaps!
