Imagine a universe where you can watch a new Star Wars film every year
Possibly the best news ever for Star Wars fans.
According to an interview featured on Wired.com Disney could be set to make a new Star Wars film every year - forever!
Well, perhaps not forever, but for the foreseeable future.
According to Wired.com "The company intends to put out a new Star Wars movie every year for as long as people will buy tickets."
So, fans of the multi-million pound franchise could be in for a real treat, as long as they keep going to see the films that is.
In 2012 the Walt Disney Company bought Lucasfilm for $4 billion and a number of films have already gone into pre-production, however Adam Rodgers of Wired.com says "the past four decades of Star Wars are merely prologue".
The next film to hit the big screen will be J. J. Abrams' The Force Awakens on the 17th December 2015, while 2016 will see a stand-alone film written by John Knoll.
This will be an 'anthology' film as opposed to a 'saga' film and is set between the events of Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Episode IV: A New Hope.
