Over the weekend, a true sign of brotherly love was witnessed between the Brownlee brothers.

Olympic medalists Alistair and Jonny Brownlee were taking part in the Triathlon World Series in Mexico, when Jonny found himself beginning to weave over the road in hot and humid conditions.

Jonny, who was comfortably leading at the time, stopped at the side of the road. As brother Alistair who was in third approached, he decided to put his arm around his exhausted brother and walk him the final few hundred metres across the line; eventually pushing him across the line.

It wasn't all sympathy from Alistair, who later joked, "I wish the flipping idiot had just paced it right and won the race. He could have jogged the last 2km."

Jonny required immediate medical attention after the race, but later tweeted from his hospital bed saying, "Not how I wanted to end the season, but gave it everything."

Thanks to his brother's amazing support, Jonny finished in second and Alistair in third place.

What an emotional moment for the Brownlee brothers, and what incredible sportsmanship and love shown by Alistair Brownlee!
