An 80-year-old Alzheimer's sufferer who became an internet star has landed himself a record deal after his son posted videos of him singing online!

Ted McDermott, who used to work at Butlins in Blackpool has been snapped up after his 'carpool karaoke' videos went viral.

Ted, who has become known as the 'Songaminute man', has been suffering from Alzheimer's for three years. As his son Mac explains on his JustGiving page, his Dad was becoming progressively more violent because of the illness. However, Mac says that "when we've got him singing again, he's back in the room. It's these moments that we treasure."

Ted has now been signed by Decca Records, and will record a version of Frank Sinatra's You Make Me Feel So Young!

Mac posted the videos to raise £1,000 for Alzheimer's Society – but so far they've managed to raise over £115,000.
