Norman the golden retriever saved a teenager from drowning despite his blindness. 15-year-old Lisa was caught off-guard in an esturary and started to scream as she was dragged down by the current. As Norman was being taken for a walk by his owner he heard the screams from the teenager - running towards the sound and swam out to find Lisa struggling. The brave dog then dragged the exhausted teenager back to the edge of the estuary.

The Brousseau family in Connecticut were soundly asleep when Duke the family pet woke them up unexpectedly. Duke jumped on their bed and began to shake uncontrolably, something which was totally out of character prompting the Brousseau's to check on their nine week old daughter Harper. Horrified, they found that their daughter wasn't breathing and called 911. Harper is now fine but if it wasn't for the quick reactions of Duke it could have been a very different story.
