Steam trains will be reintroduced between Amersham and Wembley Park on the Metropolitan line in September.

The event taking place on the 10th and 11th September will allow train fans and members of the public to experience what it was like in days gone by.

The beautifully restored Metropolitan No.1 steam train will transport passengers along the line to Amersham station where they can then experience a tea party provided by party organisers 'Jam and Tea'.

The event takes place over the same weekend as Amersham's Heritage Day which is celebrated on the 11th September. On the Sunday train passengers will also be able to take a free bus from Amersham station to Amersham Old Town for live music and market stalls.

Tickets for the memorable train journey start at £20 for the train journey with an extra £10 for the tea and steam package and can be bought online.
