Ronan Keating has posted a touching tribute to his former Boyzone bandmate Stephen Gately who died seven years ago.

Yesterday, Ronan posted a photo of Stephen on Instagram, captioned with a line from Disney's Hercules:

'Hey Steo. "A true hero isn't measured by the size of his strength, but by the strength of his heart." -- Zeus (Disney's Hercules) #ShootingStar. Miss ya Bro'

Ronan and Stephen were originally the two lead singers of 90s boyband Boyzone, one of Ireland's biggest boybands, before Ronan gradually became more famous as lead singer.

Stephen died unexpectedly at the age of 33 on 10th October 2009 while at home in Majorca.

He died from an undiagnosed heart condition, and was laid to rest in Dublin on the 16th October 2009.

Talking at the time of his death, the remaining members of Boyzone explained why they spent the night in the church before their band mate's funeral, saying, "he was afraid of the dark".
