The Queen will be celebrating her actual birthday on Thursday 7th April and then her official birthday in June!

Why does the queen have two birthdays?

It's tradition that monarchy are given another birthday if their actual birth date doesn't fall in summertime. This is because there's a better chance of sunshine for the birthday parade (Trooping the Colour).

Have other Kings and Queens done this?

Yes! This has been an option since 1748 when Edward VII was given a second birthday as his fell in November.

What celebrations have been organised?
