Mother-to-be celebrates pregnancy after 6 miscarriages with amazing photoshoot
It's to celebrate her 'rainbow baby', one born after a miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss.
Maternity photoshoots are fairly common these days, however one like this is incredibly unusual.
After having six miscarriages before her current pregnancy, Jessica was treated to a special photoshoot by her husband Kevin Mahoney.
The couple approached Connecticut-based photographer JoAnn Marrero and asked for their shoot to have a rainbow theme, to represent their rainbow baby. A rainbow baby is one born after a miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss, something that obviously means a lot to the couple.
JoAnn teamed up with fellow photographer Mary Maloney from Pebbles and Polka Dots Photography to come up with a concept to bring the couple's rainbow theme to life, and the results were amazing.
Although it was hard work, JoAnn and Mary pulled off a memorable photoshoot. They used a number of coloured smoke bombs and grenades to create the rainbow, while Jessica “stood with composure” through it all, according to JoAnn.
Following the photoshoot, both photographers posted the photos on Facebook, including one behind-the-scenes shot showing Mary setting off some of the smoke bombs.
The finished photos were absolutely beautiful and amazed everyone, including husband Kevin and their four-year-old son Corbin, who featured in one of the photos.
Since the photo was posted on the Facebook page Birth Without Fear, it has been shared nearly 2000 times and received 11K reactions in less than a week.
