Mel C reveals why she won't be joining the Spice Girls reunion
"I’m a singer and songwriter. Not a celebrity."
In a piece written for Love magazine Mel C explains why she won't be joining Mel B, Emma Bunton and Geri Horner for a Spice Girls reunion.
Speculation has surrounded the former Spice Girls members after three of them posted photos of GEM around the 20th anniversary of their debut single 'Wannabe'.
In the article the 42-year-old singer reflects on how she dealt with fame in the early years and how social media has affected the celebrity landscape.

"The fascination with the band never seems to go away." Sporty Spice says, "It’s a blessing and a curse all at the same time."
The 'I Turn To You' singer told the magazine,
"Truth be told, earlier this year after several face-to-face meetings with the girls I made the difficult decision not to be part of a proposed reunion with Emma, Geri and Melanie. Victoria had already bowed out understandably with the demands of her fashion label and her rather large family."
She added, "I will be a Spice Girl until I die", but performing at the 2012 Olympics on top of a black cab was the "absolute pinnacle of my Spice existence".

However Mel also admits that, "It is of course a very lucrative opportunity," but "there’s a lot to be said for bowing out on a high note."
Despite not joining forces with the others Mel C is still very much involved with the music industry and is currently preparing to release her new album saying, "I am under no illusion that my solo work will ever come close to a fraction of the impact that we make as the Spice Girls."
Her new album 'Version of Me' will be released this October.
