The Magic of Christmas 2016: The best moments from the show
On 27th November 2016, we gathered together some of the most impressive live artists for a Christmas show at the London Palladium. The night kicked off with some exciting tweets from the Magic of Christmas artists, including this one from Ward Thomas, whose cover of Driving Home For Christmas went down particularly well.
Rebecca Ferguson was also feeling quite Christmassy, and did a gorgeous version of 'The Christmas Song'. However, we think it's fair to say that the next act completely blew everybody away with her breathtaking cover of 'Walking In The Air'.
The Palladium then welcomed Emeli Sandé, Ward Thomas, Jack Savoretti and Beverley Knight throughout the afternoon.
Ward Thomas' angelic vocals put us straight in the festive mood, along with West End star Beverley's 'Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas', Emeli's gospel-inspired 'O Come All Ye Faithful' and Jack Savoretti's gravelly 'It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas'.
And then came a real treat: co-presenter Melanie C decided to perform a special live version of her new single 'Dear Life' for us! And of course, it was absolutely beautiful.
But a Christmas show just wouldn't be a Christmas show without the man. The legend. THE Rick Astley.
As well as performing 'Dance' and 'Pray With Me' from his new album 50, Rick came back for the big finish to sing a gorgeous version of White Christmas (in his new sparkly Christmas jacket, of course) AND his classic Never Gonna Give You Up!
And yep, we even got Nick dancing!
