The reaction has been paw-sitive.

Clapham Common tube station has had a makeover surprising commuters with cat photos instead of adverts this morning.

A Kickstarter campaign started earlier this year raised £23,000 to replace as many adverts with photos of our furry friends.

Featuring stray cats from two rescue charities, Battersea Dogs & Cats Home and Cats Protection these photos are due to stay on display for two weeks should you wish to visit.

The cat photos are throughout the station from the 'catflaps' (ticket gateways - pictured below) to the escalators and main platforms.

CATs (Citizens Advertising Takeover Service) is the first project from Glimpse, a creative collective, founded by James Turner who said, “We tried to imagine a world where public spaces made you feel good. We hope people will enjoy being in the station and maybe think a bit differently about the world around them."

One poster features photos of cats provided by Kickstarter supporters who each paid £100 to have their pet included. One supporter Randy Cepuch has even flown in from Virginia to see his cat on the wall!

Athough very different from the usual adverts commuters are presented with everyone seems to be loving the new posters tweeting their thoughts.

Glimpse are already planning their next project and are asking the public to get involved by submitting ideas at CatsNotAds.org however, unsurprisingly, dogs are said to be frontrunner.
