Kelly Clarkson gives birth to second child and announces unusual name
The singer has welcomed baby number two
Kelly Clarkson and her husband, Brandon Blackstock, have welcomed a healthy baby boy into the world.
The singer announced the happy news to her fans via her Twitter page, where she also revealed her new born’s unusual name.
She wrote, ‘Our little baby boy has arrived!! Remington Alexander Blackstock was born 4/12/16 & he is healthy & we couldn’t be happier or more in love!”
The 33-year-old first announced she was expecting her second child during a concert in Los Angeles. Taking the audience by surprise, the ‘Since U Been Gone’ singer said “This is not how I wanted to announce that I’m pregnant. My makeup artist is backstage hating me I didn’t want you to think I’m on pills or something.”
She then went on to say “I would like to apologise to my husband. This was not planned. I’m just so hormonal. Everything is great, I haven’t vomited yet. That’s a win ya’ll.”
Despite the unusual name choice, Kelly has confirmed the couple will call her little one, Remy, for short.
Replying to a message from The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Kelly said ‘We’re calling him Remy as well.’
The singer, who found fame on American Idol is already a mum to 22-month-year-old daughter River Rose with her husband Brandon.
The proud mum regularly uploads photos of her daughter to social media, so we expect it won’t be long before we get a glimpse of little Remington.
Congratulations to the couple.
