A boy’s homework has gone viral because of two heart-breaking words
His father discovered the piece of work
A boy has demonstrated just how much of struggle school life can be through his homework.
Bob Cornelius, the father of the little boy, made a discovery when he spotted his son’s homework displayed on the classroom wall during a visit.
The piece of work asked the children questions about their life, including who their family members are, what their favourite food is and who they are friends with.
But Bob made a heart-breaking discovery on one particular question. The question asked Christopher to complete the statement 'Some of my friends are…', to which he wrote ‘No one’.
Obviously saddened by the post, Bob took to Facebook to write a touching post about his son who suffers from autism. In the post which has now been shared across the world, Bob highlighted the effects that autism can have on a person’s life.
He went on to add, “I am not so naive that I think this post is going to change the world. But, if, by sharing this, I can make you think about having a conversation with your children about empathy, about going out of their way to include those that are different from everybody else, especially if it goes against the group mentality, especially if it's not socially popular (I'm not so old that I don't remember that this takes bravery... bravery to break from the confines of what your friends think is cool in the middle and high school worlds), then I will feel like Christopher's voice has been heard.”

After touching the hearts of thousands across the world, Christopher has received gifts and letters from people who wanted him to know he is never alone.
Sharing the photo below, Bob wrote, "All this attention is a little surreal. I hope you understand that I have reached a point where I cannot possibly respond to everyone as was my original intent. The messages are in the thousands at this point. But I do answer as many as I can, and I’d like to thank everyone for sharing their stories with me and my family."

Bob has since kept people up-to-date with his son’s mail arrivals. Just yesterday he posted another picture of a new pile of letters with the caption ‘Today’s mail has arrived’.

What a lovely reaction to Christopher's letter – this definitely shows how far a simple post on Facebook can go!
