7-year-old girl plants a tree on Oxford Street and leaves adorable note
She planted it to replace a tree which had been pulled up.
Young Arrabella Cornelius decided to use her pocket money to buy a tree and plant it in the middle of Oxford Street in London.
As children, most of us would spend our pocket money on sweets or toys. But 7-year-old Arrabella Cornelius decided to do something a bit different with hers.
She decided to use her money to make something that would last forever. Arrabella has now acquired a name for herself in London as the 'guerilla gardener'!
Her father, Neil Cornelius, posted a picture of Arrabella, before they both set off in the direction of Oxford Street in the middle of the night.
After the tree in its place was vandalised, Bella decided that she wanted to use her pocket money to buy a new one.
Arrabella and her father Neil left a heartwarming note on the tree, asking everyone to respect her new plantation.
Neil Cornelius posted a video of his daughter on Instagram, showing Bella choosing her tree. He captioned the video, "Bella and I replaced a tree that some wally had pulled out of the ground (yes I must be mad)."
The tree can be found opposite John Lewis on Oxford Street.
If you are about in central London, go out and find it and pop it on Twitter or Instagram, with Bella's hashtag #mytreelondon.
With just one tree, Bella has taught London a lot about community values!
