Summer is finally here!

1. Bananarama - 'Cruel Summer' Back in the 80s 'Cruel Summer' reached number 8, it was later covered by Ace of Base for the French market in 1998. Watch the original music video below.
2. DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince - 'Summertime' For many this track is synonymous with summer, reaching number 8 in 1991 this was a huge hit for Will Smith (The Fresh Prince) and continues to be added to summer playlists all over the world.
3. Bryan Adams - 'Summer of '69' This tune is still incredibly popular so it's surprising that it only got to number 42 when it was released in 1985.
4. Don Henley - 'The Boys of Summer' Originally released in 1985 Don Henley's version of this track reached number 12, it was later covered by dance act DJ Sammy in 2002 reaching number 2.
5. John Travolta & Olivia Newton John - 'Summer Nights' Not only was this a massive hit reaching number 1 in 1978 it was part of the soundtrack for the blockbuster Grease. It is still played at plenty of parties throughout the year.
6. The Isley Brothers - 'Summer Breeze' There have been many versions of this song, but here is The Isley Brothers' version released in 1974.
7. Lovin' Spoonful - 'Summer in the City' Topping the Billboard 100 in the USA this track was also a top ten hit in the UK in 1966. The song features a number of car horns to give the impression of 'summer in the city'.
8. Texas - 'Summer Son' Reaching number 5 in 1999 this is one of Texas' best known songs.
9. a-ha - 'Summer Moved On' This was their first single in 2000 after a break of six years.
10. Stereophonics - 'Indian Summer' Reaching number 30 in 2013 this was the second single from their eighth studio album.
