Princess Diana said the 'wrong name' during her vows to Prince Charles
Ouch!
Wedding day nerves get the better of us all!
The Royal wedding of Diana, Princess of Wales and Prince Charles saw a congregation of 3,500 people, drew crowds of 600,000 people to the streets around St Paul's Cathedral and was watched on TV by about 750 million people.
Now imagine your own wedding being watched by that many people; it's understandable that you might be feeling a bit jittery!
Well, thirty six years on from the former couple's ceremony, a few more details have been unveiled about Charles and Diana's big day.
According to a discovery made by Cosmopolitan, Lady Diana's nerves got the better of her at one very crucial moment at the altar, leading her to say the wrong name while repeating her wedding vows.
We can't help but be reminded of another similarly awkward wedding moment involving our favourite sitcom characters...
But before we all envisage a dramatic 'I Ross, take thee Rachel' moment, Diana's mix-up was significantly more forgivable!
The Princess mixed up the Prince's first and middle names, calling him Philip Charles Arthur George, rather than Charles Philip. Which, considering Prince Charles' number of middle names, is hardly surprising!
Prince Charles also apparently made a mistake of his own, saying 'thy goods' instead of 'my worldly goods' at another point in the vows.
Will this all come to life on screen in a future episode of The Crown? We think so.
