Princess Beatrice announces engagement to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi

She's watched her sister Princess Eugenie, and her cousins Prince Harry and Prince William get married in recent years, but now, Princess Beatrice has announced her own engagement to property tycoon Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

The lovely news was announced in a press release this morning (Thursday 26th September), by The Duke and Duchess of York (Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson), who said, “We are thrilled that Beatrice and Edoardo have got engaged, having watched their relationship develop with pride. We are the lucky parents of a wonderful daughter who has found her love and companion in a completely devoted friend and loyal young man. We send them every good wish for a wonderful family future.”

Princess Beatrice, who is now 31-years-old, added, "We are extremely happy to be able to share the news of our recent engagement. We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can’t wait to be married. We share so many similar interests and values and we know this will stand us in great stead for the years ahead, full of love and happiness.”

Princess Beatrice's sister Princess Eugenie was also quick to publicly congratulate the couple.

Sharing some cute photos that she'd taken of the pair, Princess Eugenie wrote, 'Beabea - wow! I'm so happy for you my dearest big sissy and dear Edo. It's been a long time coming and you two are meant to be. 📷 by me!!'. sic

Mr Mapelli Mozzi popped the question to Princess Beatrice whilst the couple were away in Italy earlier this month. Edoardo designed the stunning engagement ring in colloaboration with British designer Shaun Leane.

It's also been confirmed that the wedding will take place in 2020.
