Nicki Chapman will join Magic Radio as Mellow Magic presenter

We're excited tell you that presenter, broadcaster and author Nicki Chapman is our newest member of the Magic Radio family and from January 6th 2025, Nicki will be the host of the iconic Mellow Magic! Listeners will be able to hear Nicki on Magic Radio every Monday to Thursday from 8pm.

Mellow Magic is one of Magic Radio’s most loved shows, soundtracking your cab ride home, a late night stuck in the office or just helping you ease into your evening. Listeners can expect timeless tunes from Adele to ABBA to Whitney and Westlife as they unwind from their day with Nicki.

Nicki said: "I’m honoured to be presenting Mellow Magic at the start of next year - it’s such an iconic show & brand. I'm really looking forward to playing some of the world's greatest songs each night - many of which I’ve been involved in - and becoming friends with the listeners, however they're spending their evenings.”

As well as Mellow Magic, Nicki will also host a series of music specials and long-form interviews across the year for Magic Radio.

Current weekday Mellow Magic presenter Lynn Parsons will move to present the show on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. Jen Thomas will also remain part of the Mellow Magic family.

About Nicki Chapman

An accomplished TV presenter and broadcaster, Nicki Chapman has been the face of BBC's Escape To The Country and two spin-offs, I Escape To The Country and Celebrity Escape To The Country. Nicki is also part of the BBC’s mainstay presenting team having hosted the RHS Chelsea Flower Show since 2006.

Nicki’s broadcasting career has also seen her sit in at Radio 2 for Zoe Ball’s Breakfast Show, Michael Ball’s Sunday Love Songs and Romesh Ranganathan’s Saturday Show, as well as presenting a number of specialist documentaries for the station. As of 2024, she became the host of the Official Midsomer Murders Mayhem podcast.

Nicki’s memoir, So Tell Me What You Want, published in the summer of 2024 by Little, Brown and Hachette, became an Amazon Number 1 Bestseller within its first week, praised for lifting the lid on her fascinating career in the nineties and noughties music scene, where Nicki was one of the most influential music publicists, overseeing the career of music giants such as The Spice Girls, Prince, Take That, Amy Winehouse and David Bowie, to name a few.

Nicki is a proud Ambassador for British Dressage and a keen and active supporter of Teenage Cancer Trust, Childline and Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy. After successful brain surgery in 2019, Nicki is now a passionate Ambassador for The Brain Tumour Charity.

Will Lynn Parsons still be on Magic?

Yes, Lynn is still very much part of the Magic family and will be presenting Mellow Magic across the Main Station every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 8pm. You can also hear the show across Magic’s sister station Mellow Magic. Jen Thomas will also still be a very important part of the Magic family.
