The wonderful Gok Wan is officially the new co-host of Magic Radio Breakfast, alongside Harriet Scott! Following us announcing the news live on air last year, Gok has now joined Harriet permanently every weekday to co-host our incredible breakfast show. So, let's get to know a little more about the celebrated body positive fashion guru...

On joining the Magic Radio family, Gok said: "I am beyond excited to be joining the Magic Breakfast team. I have loved working with the crew and of course getting to know our fabulous listeners. I have truly fallen in love with radio and I don’t even mind the early mornings, I’m an early riser anyway! We are going to have a brilliant time and I want you all to join us in the daily fun. Harriet is a wonderful co-host and I can’t wait for our Magic to happen!"

Announcing the amazing news live on air on the morning of 30th October (2024), Gok gushed: "This has been the hardest thing to keep secret! Yes, myself and Harriet are the brand new Magic Breakfast co-hosts. I'm so made up, I'm so happy about this!"

He then added: "I'm terrible at keeping secrets - if I know something then I want to share it with the entire world, and this has kind of been bubbling away for the past couple of months," before also gushing: "I genuinely have fallen in love with radio, and fallen in love with this show".

Harriet has been the co-host of Magic Radio Breakfast since 2017, and frequently interviews stars on the show including most recently Kylie, Rick Astley and stars of the new Disney+ show Rival, Danny Dyer and Emily Atack.

On Gok joining her on the show permanently, Harriet added: "I know that our listeners are going to love spending their mornings with Gok just as much as I do. We’re all going to have some adventures together in 2025 and I can’t wait!"

Who else has co-hosted the Magic Radio Breakfast?

In the run-up to Gok joining Magic Radio Breakfast on a permanent basis (27th January 2025), Harriet Scott was joined by a number of incredible co-hosts to keep his seat warm in the meantime - including Gok himself! Other names included Magic Soul broadcaster Lemar, as well as McFly’s Harry Judd.

Of course, the wonderful Ronan Keating officially co-hosted alongside Harriet up until July 2024.

Who is Gok Wan?

Gok Wan is a celebrated body-positive fashion guru, who became a household name thanks to his impressive career in fashion, television, acting and even DJ-ing. The British fashion consultant is arguable most-known for his groundbreaking show How to Look Good Naked on Channel 4, which saw the expert help individuals embrace and love their bodies, and develop personal style they can wear with confidence.

Gok is also an author and chef, having released various books on style, cooking and even an autobiography. His unique blend of fashion knowledge, compassion, humour and warmth has effortlessly made him a beloved figure in the UK - and beyond!

Originally, Gok started out with dreams of being an actor. He studied at London’s Central School of Speech and Drama before taking an interest in the hair and costume area. Despite not making acting his career since 2013 he has returned to the stage each year as a panto dame – playing the role of the Fairy Gokmother. During his time in panto he has starred opposing Brian Conley, Paul Zerdin and comedian Paul Chuckle.

What else is he doing now?

As well as co-hosting Magic Radio Breakfast alongside Harriet Scott, it's fair to say that Gok Wan is keeping busy!

Gok regularly appears on ITV's This Morning, sharing helpful fashion tips and style advice, as well as cooking delicious recipes. On top of that, he recently filmed a new series for Channel 4, titled Gok’s Fill Your House For Free. The series saw Gok combine his styling talents with interior design, helping families transform their homes on a budget.

Also a very talented DJ, Gok frequently performs at clubs and festivals. Recently celebrating his 50th birthday, he even livestreamed on Facebook, inviting all to his 'Strictly Disco & Vocal House' set.

Early 00s: Makeup artist and Fashion Stylist

Gok started out on his journey to stardom as a makeup artist in and around London, before then giving his expert fashion opinion to a number of celebrities. From this, Gok worked with some well-known photographers and gave opinions to a number of fashion mags such as Glamour and Cosmopolitan.

2006: How To Look Good Naked

Gok landed his very own show in 2006 when Channel 4 launched a programme called How To Look Good Naked. Gok hosted the show which encouraged women to build their self-esteem and self-confidence. Between 2006 and 2008, How To Look Good Naked had four series, with TV channel Really reviving the show for an additional series in 2019.

2007: How to Look Good Naked: Shop for Your Shape and Look Amazing!

Off the back of his show How To Look Good Naked, Gok signed a deal with publisher Harper Collins to release his first book called How to Look Good Naked: Shop for Your Shape and Look Amazing! The book was full of health, beauty and styling advice in order to help people feel body confident without having to undergo strict diets or have cosmetic surgery.

2008: How to Dress: Your Complete Style Guide for Every Occasion

Just one year later, Gok released his second book called How to Dress: Your Complete Style Guide for Every Occasion. The book is packed with tips from Gok on how to dress for any occasion, as well as Gok giving advice and inspiration to make readers feel confident about themselves.

2008: Gok's Fashion Fix

Presenting alongside Alexa Chung, Gok teamed up with Channel 4 once again in 2008, for a new series called Gok's Fashion Fix. The show had three series in total and saw Gok attempt to banish the nation's wardrobe disasters, putting high street clothes up against high end designers.

2009: Gok Wan: Too Fat, Too Young

Gok took part in his first documentary series in 2009, called Gok Wan: Too Fat, Too Young. Airing on Channel 4, the series explored overweight children in the UK, where Gok used his own experiences of dieting and obesity in an attempt to help others.

2011: Through Thick and Thin: My Autobiography

In 2011, Gok decided to open up further about his life, releasing his first autobiography called Through Thick and Thin: My Autobiography. The emotional memoir sees Gok opening up about his drastic weight loss, as well as the childhood bullying he was subject to, and how he chose to reinvent himself through his style and personality.

2011: Gok's Clothes Roadshow

Another year, another show with Channel 4. In 2011, Gok hosted his own show called Gok's Clothes Roadshow, where he visited different places in the UK, teaching women how best to dress for their shape.

2012: Gok Cooks Chinese

With the help of his dad, Gok showed his fans how to cook simple, yet delicious home-cooked Chinese food in this six-part series. Each episode was given a different theme, including Chinese Classics, Family Favourites, Traditional, Dim Sum, Street Food and Celebration Feast. To accompany the TV series, Gok released a cook book with the same name, which included over 80 recipies from Gok's family.

2012: Hotel GB

Gok took part in Channel 4 reality series Hotel GB in 2012, where he acted as a bar manager. The show featured celebrity names from various Channel 4 shows teaming up in an attempt to run a hotel, in turn helping unemployed young people find work. Gok was on the show alongside the likes of Gordon Ramsay, Mary Portas, Katie Piper, Kirsty Allsopp and Jimmy Carr.

2012: Baggage

Gok turned TV host in 2012 when he become the presenter of Channel 4 game show Baggage. Unfortunately, the series didn't perform well and was axed after just eight episodes.

2012: Gok's Teens: The Naked Truth

Another show Gok fronted in 2012 was three-part Channel 4 series Gok's Teens: The Naked Truth. The show sees Gok giving troubled teens the advice, confidence and self-belief they need to tackle their issues and anxieties.

2013: Gok's Wok

Following the success of his first cook book, Gok released another in 2013 called Gok's Wok. The book was filled with fast, fresh and healthy Asian recipes.

2014-Present: This Morning

As well as being This Morning's fashion expert, Gok stood-in to present the main show on a number of different occasions, when usual host Phillip Schofield couldn't make it. Gok was loved by viewers, with many confessing they'd love to see him as a permanent host. Over the years, Gok has appeared on the show various times in different guest slots.

2016: Fearne & Gok; Off The Rails

Gok teamed up with good friend Fearne Cotton in 2016 for a series on ITVBe called Fearne & Gok; Off The Rails. The six-part series looked into celebrity style as the pair were joined by two celebrity panellists to give their opinion on who rocked the red carpet; who played it safe and who pushed the boundaries.

2016: Gok's Lunchbox

After working with ITV on both This Morning and Off The Rails, Gok signed another deal with the broadcaster in 2016 for a new series called Gok's Lunchbox. The show saw Gok delivering three identical lunch boxes to the doorsteps of three budding home cooks, with the challenge to out-cook each other using the same set of ingredients.

2016: Gok's Fill Your House for Free

Gok presented Channel 4 daytime show Fill Your House for Free in 2016, where Gok met families and advised them how to renovate their house without spending any money, from bedroom transformations to kitchen do-overs.

2017: Naked and Baring

Following on from his autobiography in 2011, Gok embarked on an 18-date tour across the UK called Naked and Baring in 2017. During each date, Gok candidly spoke about the ups and downs of his life, his rise to fame and the struggles he had to overcome. Fans of Gok described the show as 'relatable', with many praising him for his honesty.

2017: Gok's Chinese Takeaway

Released in 2017, Gok's Chinese Takeaway was a six-part series which saw Gok visit Chinese communities around the globe to discover their take on Chinese food outside of China. Gok travelled to London, Barcelona, Melbourne, Amsterdam, Malaysia and Paris in the series which aired on National Geographic.

2019: Wuli:Luu

Gok signed a deal with shopping channel QVC in 2019 where he released a clothing range called Wuli:Luu. Gok took inspiration from his heritage to create modern, yet timeless, designs and sold them on the channel.

2019: Gok Wan MBE

For his services to fashion and social awareness, Gok was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2020 New Year Honours list. He wrote on social media at the time: 'Today, something incredibly special has happened. I have been awarded an MBE for my services to fashion and social awareness in the Queen's New Years Honours List. I cannot begin to express how happy, excited and humbled I am to have my career and personal work awarded with the highest of accolades. I have too many personal thank yous for a single post so here's a big group THANK YOU to everyone who has ever helped, guided or trusted me. I am overjoyed and I hope that everyone gets to feel as happy as I feel right now'. (sic)

2019-2020: Say Yes To The Dress Lancashire

Gok was announced as the presenter for Say Yes To The Dress spin-off series Say Yes To The Dress Lancashire in 2019. Filmed at bridal store Ava Rose in Lancashire, Gok helped the brides to be find their perfect dress. The 10-part series aired on TLC UK in March 2019, with series two airing 2020.

2020: Debut single 'Let Me Be Your Fantasy'

A huge lover of music, Gok DJ'd around the world at various gigs, before he released his debut single in 2020, a cover of Baby D's 90s classic 'Let Me Be Your Fantasy'. Gok teamed up with Craig Knight and vocalist Kele Le Roc for the track, which was loved by fans.

Speaking to Jordan Lee on the Hits Radio Pride Breakfast Show, Gok explained that he's been working on this song since 2019, saying: "Believe it or not, I've never actually met Craig, I played some of his tracks out when I've been DJing in clubs, and I was a big fan of this work."

2020-2022 Gok Wan's Easy Asian

Embracing his love for cooking even further, Gok signed a deal with Food Network UK for a cooking series called Gok Wan's Easy Asian. The show was made up of three series airing between 2020 and 2022.

2024: Charity single 'Deeper Love'

Gok teamed up with House Gospel Choir in 2024 to release a a rework of Aretha Franklin's 'Deeper Love', in tribute to his late friend Allison Gordon-Parry, who sadly passed away in 2024. The song was Allison's favourite and is available across all digital platforms, with proceeds going to Macmillan Cancer Support.

2025: Magic Breakfast with Gok Wan and Harriet Scott

Gok joined the Magic family in early 2025 when he landed the job of Magic Breakfast presenter alongside Harriet Scott. On joining the Magic Radio family, Gok said: "I am beyond excited to be joining the Magic Breakfast team. I have loved working with the crew and of course getting to know our fabulous listeners. Harriet Scott

Listen to Harriet Scott on Magic Radio Breakfast every weekday from 6am - 10am
Harriet joined Magic Radio in August 2015, entertaining us on-air with her warm and fun presenting style.
She got her start on the airwaves with her own show on student radio, going on to host a string of radio programmes, picking up awards along the way, and making a name for herself as one of the top radio presenters in the country. In September 2017, Harriet joined the Magic Breakfast Show.
Her list of celebrity interviews is pretty impressive – including George Clooney, Tom Hanks, Nicole Kidman, Meryl Streep, Stevie Wonder and, a personal highlight, Kermit the Frog.
When Harriet isn't on air, she loves spending time with her two boys, going on muddy walks with her Labrador, and cooking for friends.

Mellow Magic with Nicki Chapman Monday – Thursday 8pm

Nick Snaith

Magic's Workday every weekday 10am – 1pm
Nick Snaith joined Magic Radio in September 2014 bringing his inimitable style to Magic listeners all over the nation. Working in media since 1998, Nick has some impressive credentials which include working on the BBC1's Holiday programme. The series saw him trekking around the world for three series travelling from Valencia to America and Morocco to Northern Cyprus, which was his favourite location.
Outside Nick's media life he has owned nightclubs and pubs for the past ten years. His recent endeavours saw him strip out a 200 year old pub in Shropshire and transform it into a thriving gastropub.
Nick is sports fanatic and has taken on the 45 mile Palace to Palace Bike Ride for the Prince's Trust, as well as the London Winter Run for Magic Radio.
Piloting planes is Nick's other passion, he has flown across most of Europe and tries to fly most weekends. Flying at 500ft high along the Dalmatian Coast rates as one of Nick's most memorable experiences!

Neev Spencer

Magic's Workday every weekday 1pm - 4pm
A regular contributor on ITV's Good Morning Britain, Neev is an award-winning presenter and before joining Magic, was a listener favourite at KISS.

Mel Giedroyc

The Magic Request show every Sunday from 10am
Mel Giedroyc is a TV presenter, writer and actress. She is known for her work alongside Sue Perkins. Shows such as the multi Bafta-winning Great British Bake Off (BBC) and Light Lunch (Channel 4) which made them household names. Mel has appeared in sitcoms and panel shows, as well as on stage, most recently in Stephen Sondheim's Olivier Award winning Company at the Gielgud Theatre in the West End. Mel and Sue were reunited in the comedy series Hitmen for Sky.
Mel has been a regular presenter for BBC's Children in need and Eurovision. Mel can currently be seen hosting a comedy panel show Unforgivable for Dave now in its fourth series. Mel's first novel 'The Best Things' was released in 2021 and she is currently writing her second novel. She has also just recently finished "Starter for Ten" at Bristol Old Vic Theatre.

Tom and Kat

Hometime with Tom and Kat
Starting off at Magic on the Saturday Breakfast Tom Price has been entertaining Magic Radio listeners since 2016. Tom is famous for his standup comedy and TV career appearing in shows such Doctor Who spin-off series, Torchwood and his podcast 'My Mate Bought a Toaster'.
Kat, an accomplished broadcaster, has worked on multiple stations and joined Magic Radio to host weekend evenings in 2020, later moving to weekend afternoons.

Gaby Roslin

Saturday Mornings 10am-1pm Gaby is one of the country's most popular TV and Radio presenters with incredible amounts of energy & passion for all things moving pictures and spoken words!
Alongside hosting BBC1's Morning Live and Ch5's Shop Smart Save Money, Gaby has also presented on Radio 2, has released her first book Spread the Joy (Harper Collins) and also has her own incredibly successful podcast 'Reasons to be Joyful'. She has hosted her own chat show on BBC Radio London since 2014 as well as creating and presenting Gaby's Talking Pictures for Radio 4 & the live theatre show.
Some of Gaby's many other hosting credits include The Big Breakfast (with Chris Evans), The Terry and Gaby Show (with Sir Terry Wogan) Children in Need, MotorMouth, City Hospital, Holiday and Eastenders Revealed (fun fact – Gaby is such a huge fan of Eastenders that she has never missed an episode since it began back in 1985!!).

Emma B

Weekend Afternoons 1pm-4pm Emma B has forged a highly successful broadcast career spanning over 15 years at some of the world's best-known radio stations. She became known as Emma B when she worked for Creation Records alongside Oasis and Primal Scream.
Although her first taste of radio was when she was 8, as part of Timmy Mallet's Radio Oxford weekend show, the real break came when she worked at the legendary Radio Caroline (at Bristol dock) on the infamous 'Boat That Rocked' before moving to London and selling advertising and then writing articles for magazines including Elle, New Woman, Q and NME. Whilst trying to forge a path back to radio, Emma worked in the music business at Creation Records and then at Island Records with artists like U2, Tricky and PJ Harvey.
Emma joined BBC Radio 1 in 1998 and in April 2000 she co-presented the Sunday Surgery show, alongside Dr Mark Hamilton. The Sunday Surgery dealt with ground-breaking social and health issues for teenagers, including sex, drugs, poverty and crime. She won 4 Sony Awards for it and has been singled out as having saved lives through the show.
Emma has previously lived in Ibiza with her husband and 2 children where she had a small PR company dealing with clients such as Sony /Columbia Records. She had a weekly radio show on Ibiza-based station Sonica and hosted a series of live radio broadcasts from the Pacha Terrace and the DJ Awards 2010. Emma took a short break from radio to work in the charity sector at Macmillan Cancer Support & Teenage Cancer Trust, using her skills to fundraise and spread the word.
Emma returned to radio when she joined Magic Radio in 2017, where she now hosts weekdays from 1pm – 4pm. Emma's infectious sense of humour and mischievousness keeps the UK going all afternoon.
Emma loves arts and culture and a good book. Her TV favourites are any murder mysteries from Vera to Midsummer Murders and Death in Paradise to Trigger Point. Anything written by Jed Mercurio with Vicky McClure is a must watch, as well as an Agatha Christie thrown in for good measure. Emma, like the nation, has been gripped by Succession as well as recent dramas including It's a Sin, Sex Education & Euphoria.
She's also a committed theatre fan and is as happy singing along to Dear Evan Hanson as she is hosting the red carpet at the Olivier Awards. And at the opposite end of the glamour stakes, loves nothing better than getting her hands dirty in her garden

Dan Morrissey

Monday - Friday 7pm - 8pm
Saturday Mornings 7am - 10am
Dan grew up on the sunny South Coast, then Bristol, without a TV in the house. This has come up in therapy a few times, but also explains his love for radio...
Having worked on stations in and around the South, and then on Magic's sister stations across the Midlands he joined us at the start of 2019.
Join him every Saturday from 10am for more of the songs you love, some giggles and plenty of chances to get your own moment of fame...
He also pops up around the place when other presenters are on hard-earned holidays, so listen out for him.

Lynn Parsons

Friday – Sunday Mellow Magic 8pm – 11pm
Lynn Parsons began life as a Vision Mixer in Television. Later moving on to Present Radio and Television. Firstly, for all 4 BBC National Radio Stations, the World Service and many of the National Commercial Radio stations too.
There have been hundreds of celebrity interviews along the way with everyone from Rock n Roll Royalty, Literary Gods and the occasional Prime Minister too!
Fascinated by How things Work, wherever possible Lynn has combined Broadcasting with Adventures involving technology including Looping the loop in a Tiger Moth, Formula 1, flying
in Sea King Helicopters, looking for Submarines in an R.A.F. Nimrod and experimenting in an R.A.F. Typhoon simulator.
Lynn Loves Sport ~ Marathons, Trampolining, Swimming and more recently you'll find her doing a Handstand on her Yoga Mat.
She drives a Vintage bright yellow VW Convertible Beetle called Tallullah!

Sonali Shah 

Sunday Breakfast - 6am - 10am
Sonali began her professional broadcasting career in BBC Radio soon after graduating from university in 2001. She produced and presented news and business programmes on the World Service and Radio 5 Live. As well as being the Sunday Breakfast presenter on Magic Radio, Sonali is currently a host of BBC One's Escape to the Country and major Events for the BBC. She often hosts episodes of ITV's Tonight and regularly appears on Channel 4's Steph's Packed Lunch. Sonali is well known for being one of the faces BBC Sport and before that, a long-serving presenter of Newsround. Sonali was part of the presentation teams for Delhi 2010, London 2012 and Glasgow 2014 and joined the BBC Crimewatch team in 2015. She was a regular host on the National Lottery Live Draw on BBC One. Away from the camera and the microphone, Sonali is an Ambassador for the Prince's Trust and the British Asian Trust and regularly supports Barnardo's. Sonali has released her first children's book, The Best Diwali Ever, this year based on the religious festival.

Nicole Appleton

Saturdays - 7pm - 8pm Nicole's 90s Show
Best known as a member of the pop group All Saints who enjoyed huge success with two multi-platinum albums as well as record sales exceeding 12 million worldwide, Nicole made her radio presenting debut on the station last year when she hosted a series of specials shows on female artists.

Paul Hayes

Early Breakfast Monday – Thursday 4am-6am
Paul Hayes joined Magic in 2013 after returning from 3 years living and working in Dubai, UAE and Montreal, Canada, where he went from nearly 50 degree heat and sandstorms to minus 40 and snowstorms.
Paul is obsessed with cooking and food after taking two 'Haute Cuisine' courses. When he's not in the kitchen rustling up comfort food and trying out new recipes, Paul loves being out in the countryside, at the coast, or in a theatre.
He's massively into cars and has been since he was 4 years old and one of his favourite experiences was a track day at Elvington Airfield in Yorkshire.
Join Paul Monday to Friday on Magic to start the day on Early Breakfast (4-6am) and weekends 4-8pm.

Jim Davis

Weekends 7pm - 10pm
Jim joined the Magic team in 2019 & is currently the host of the Weekend Evening show.
He has been presenting on the radio for over 25 years and loves his job! You may have heard Jim on several other stations over the years, but now he is proud to call Magic his home!
Jim is a huge dog lover and keen foodie. He is also an avid traveller (although he doesn't have a lot of spare time!) as you'll also find Jim presenting weekday mid-mornings on our sister station Mellow Magic (9am-12pm) as well as weekend lunchtimes on Magic At The Musicals (12pm-3pm).

Eloise Carr

Fridays - 4am - 6am
