Mary Berry added white wine and cream to her Spaghetti Bolognese and people went ballistic
Cream? In a spag bol? Cream?!
When Jamie Oliver tried to put chorizo in a classic Spanish paella, he was met with disgust and horror. "Remove the chorizo. We don't negotiate with terrorists. First warning," one Twitter user said. Other sinister tweets included "Let's hope the knife slips when he's chopping coriander", and "Why don't you make some chicken nuggets out of your own fingers". He won't be trying that one again in a hurry!
But if you thought that was bad, take a look at the reaction to Mary Berry's twist on the classic Italian recipe, spaghetti bolognese.
The former 'Great British Bake Off' judge told BBC 2 show Mary Berry Everyday viewers to add wine, "white or red, whatever you've got to hand - although I really prefer to add white."
But that wasn't all that upset viewers. Mary then continued, "My secret is to make it even richer by adding double cream ... it just enriches it."
And this was the reaction:
