The Great British Bake Off star Sandi Toksvig has revealed she is to quit the show after three years on Channel 4.

The 61-year-old broadcaster and writer has hosted the popular baking show since it moved over to Channel 4 in 2017 alongside comedian Noel Fielding.

In a tweet posted by the show's official account it revealed in true Bake Off style that "All pud things come to an end" and the upcoming Great Stand Up To Cancer Bake Off will mark her last series on the programme.

They added "We would like to thank her for all the wonderful memories and wish her the very best for the future."

Bake Off judge Prue Leith tweeted her appreciation for Sandi following the news of her departure.

She said: "I have absolutely loved working with Sandi, she's been a brilliant host and enormous fun and I am in awe of how hard she works juggling so many different projects. We shall be lifelong friends way beyond the tent."
