Following the monumental success of Harlan Coben's drama Fool Me Once at the beginning of the year, featuring Michelle Keegan, it didn't take long for Netflix bosses to reveal plans to adapt a further two of Harlan's award-winning novels.

Netflix revealed the news back in January that Missing You and Run Away would be the next to hit Netflix, and now we've finally been given more details about Missing You, with Harlan describing it at his "most gripping" drama yet.

When is it out?

It was announced in November that Missing You will land on Wednesday 1st January 2025, the perfect treat for New Year's Day!

Netflix bosses wrote on social: 'Nothing burns like an old flame... and your new year’s plans just got a lot hotter 🔥 @harlancoben’s MISSING YOU debuts on 1 January, only on netflix'. (sic)

What is Missing You about?

Harlan's book Missing You was released in March 2014 and is a heart-pounding thriller about the ties we have to our past.

The show's synopsis says: 'Eleven years ago Detective Kat Donovan’s fiancé Josh – the love of her life – disappeared and she’s never heard from him since. Now, swiping profiles on a dating app, she suddenly sees his face and her world explodes all over again.

'Josh’s reappearance will force her to dive back into the mystery surrounding her father’s murder and uncover long-buried secrets from her past.'

Speaking to Digital Spy at the National Television Awards, Harlan said: "I think it may be my most gripping, and the ending will not only surprise you. In fact, I recently re-watched it, I was completely fooled by the ending – and I wrote it.

"But I think you'll genuinely be moved. Tell me if you shed a tear at the last episode of Missing You."

On Thursday 3rd October, Netflix shared eight first look photos of the new series, writing: 'you won’t want to miss these first looks at Harlan Coben’s newest thriller MISSING YOU. Starring Rosalind Eleazar, Richard Armitage, Ashley Walters, Lenny Henry, and Jessica Plummer, coming soon to Netflix'. (sic)
