There's going to be a Line of Duty special for Sport Relief
And it features comedian Lee Mack!
After the cast of Line Of Duty reunited and started filming for the hugely-anticipated series six, fans of the hit BBC show have been holding out for information about when we can expect it to return to our TV screens.
Well, although series six isn't expected until the end of the year, or perhaps even the start of 2021, don't worry, because there's going to be a very special one-off for Sport Relief!
The special episode will air during the annual Sport Relief show on Friday 13th March, and comedian Lee Mack will join the lovable cast.
The one-off sketch will see DI Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure), Superintendent Ted Hastings (Adrian Dunbar), and DS Steve Arnott (Martin Compston) interviewing DC Taylor (Jason Isaacs) about the identity of 'H', however they are soon interrupted by Jason's lawyer...
Of course, in true Sport Relief fashion, Jason's lawyer turns out to be comedian Lee Mack, who plays the role of David Rickman.
Line Of Duty isn't the only popular drama getting a one-off special for Sport Relief. Just days after the brand new trailer was released for series three, it's also been revealed that Killing Eve will have a hilarious sketch called 'Killing Steve', which shows a mysterious assassin killing people called Steve.
Meanwhile, back to Line Of Duty, after the cast of the popular show reunited last month, filming for series six is now in full swing, with the BBC posting behind-the-scenes shots of the cast during filming.
Actor Adrian Dunbar, who plays the role of Superintendent Ted Hastings, appeared on Good Morning Britain this morning (Wednesday 4th March), where he was quizzed about the release date of series six.
Although he didn't give an exact date, Adrian said it's likely fans will have to wait until early 2021 for the new series to hit our screens.
