Lemar opens up about his experience as Cricket on The Masked Singer
He came third in this year's show
Magic presenter Lemar has been keeping a secret from all of us over the last few weeks, and over the weekend, all was revealed. During The Masked Singer final, where McFly's Danny was crowned the winner, our very own Lemar ended in third place, being revealed as the Cricket, despite Harriet asking him about his involvement last week...
Chatting to Harriet on Magic, Lemar revealed what is was like being on the very secretive show. He explained it was so secretive that only three other people knew he was on the show, and he would be taken from his house to the studio completely covered.
"It is the most secretive thing, to take part in, that I've ever done," he explained. "It was like you do not know who else is on the show, you don't ever get eye contact with anyone. It's just you and like three people that know it's you and that's it."
He went on to say: "From the time you leave your house, you're cloaked, everything's covered. So I didn't know who else was on the thing."
Did Lemar choose his Masked Singer costume?
Yes, he did! Lemar went on to explain why he chose his costume saying: "There were a couple (outfit) suggestions in there and yeah, I thought you know a cricket is pretty unassuming cricket. You might go for sports and you know green, I like the colour green, so why not?"
He also opened up on what it was like to sing inside the costume, admitting he couldn't see anything.
When Harriet asked how he got on stage, he replied: "You can't see anything like. You've got two people walking you to the stage and then you come out you do a little bit and you look to the left you can see people in the distance. The judge, you can't really see much in there. I guess it depends on what outfit you've got, but yeah.
"You get there and you think wow, this is strange. Unique is the word like wow this is this is different and also you know as a singer, if you sing you used to just singing with fresh air but you're singing with this this like a thing in front of it. If you're slightly claustrophobic which I am it can be it can be a test but you know, it was good fun."
