Nicki Chapman and Sonali Shah win TV Choice Award with Escape to the Country

The 26th annual TV Choice Awards took place in London on Monday 10th February, with some of the biggest TV shows such as Call the Midwife, Strictly Come Dancing, Mr Bates Vs The Post Office, and The Hairy Bikers Go West all picking up awards.

Another big winner on the night was BBC One show Escape To The Country, which won an award for Best Daytime Show ahead of Loose Women, This Morning and Animal Park.

Magic Radio presenters Nicki Chapman and Sonali Shah are both hosts on the popular show, which features potential home buyers searching for their dream homes in rural UK areas.

The show airs daily on BBC One at 3pm, and also has multiple spin-offs including I Escaped to the Country and Escape To the Perfect Town.

Nicki and Sonali both attended the TV Choice Awards on Monday night, where they celebrated the victory alongside the rest of the crew and presenters. Taking to social media, Nicki told her fans: 'Just a fraction of the remarkable team who make Escape_Country what it is. Big Thanks to everyone who voted for us and massive thanks to the rest of the Escape dream team'. (sic)

Sonali also shared the news to her own Instagram page, posting a photo of the team on the red carpet alongside the caption 'we won'.
