Celebrate summer in style at RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival
The RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival returns 2-7th July
Last updated 12th Jun 2024
RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival returns on the 2nd-7th July 2024, with amazing gardens and gorgeous flower displays, plus inspirational talks and top gardening tips. Set in the spacious, beautiful grounds of Hampton Court Palace, the festival is the perfect place to gain gardening inspiration, whether you're simply looking to grow more plants this summer or need bespoke advice from expert UK growers.
On press day, 1st July, Magic Radio’s Angellica Bell will be visiting the RHS Money Saving Garden to get a sneak peak of the garden and get money saving gardening advice from social media star and bestselling author of The Money Saving Gardener Anya Lautenbach (Anya the Garden Fairy) who will be hosting budget-friendly gardening tutorials on the garden throughout the week with advice for festival visitors on how to allow their gardens to flourish without spending a fortune. Discover which hardworking plants give the best long-term value for money plus learn how to repurpose materials and propagate plants!
Anya believes that 300 new plants a year can be created from even a normal-sized, relatively mature garden through propagating: “That's without a greenhouse or specialist equipment … it’s almost another whole garden for free!
“From a mature lavender plant I can take cuttings in spring to get about 100 new plants. And don’t forget that lavender needs to be pruned anyway each year, so why not turn your waste into plants by pruning them and then growing those cuttings on. And if you don’t have a garden, but want to grow more lavenders in your windowsills or containers, the same principle applies – prune them and then grow the cuttings to create new plants.”
Anya continues: “As long as you invest in buying and growing healthy good varieties of plants in the beginning, there is so much you can do at little cost to keep your garden growing.”

It's no secret that growing plants and gardening helps make us healthier and happier, plus there are fantastic environmental benefits. Therefore, this year's festival is just one way for the RHS to inspire the nation to keep growing during the cost-of-living crisis, for themselves and the planet.
Clare Matterson, RHS Director General, said: “We see every day how gardening and growing plants can provide much needed respite for people facing some of the toughest challenges and how it can bring joy in hard times. This makes us really want gardening to feel, and be, accessible and available to all. Through this garden, we want to share how gardening and growing plants at home doesn’t need to cost a fortune."
Other highlights from the festival will include:
