Royal Mail: "Royal Mail's stamp issue celebrates this unique figure"
The Royal Mail has announced that a set of 10 special stamps will be released as a tribute to the late singer David Bowie.
David Bowie is widely regarded as one of the most influential musical and cultural figures of all time and the stamps will reflect this.
Some of his iconic album covers will be included in the set such as 'Hunky Dory' and 'Aladdin Sane', along with photos from his tours between 1972 and 2004, including the Ziggy Stardust tour.
This is the first time that a whole stamp collection has been dedicated to an individual musical artist or cultural figure.
Talking about the announcement, Philip Parker from the Royal Mail said, "Royal Mail's stamp issue celebrates this unique figure and some of his many celebrated personas."
The collection of 10 stamps will be available from the 14th March 2017 and fans can pre-order the stamps direct from the Royal Mail's website.
Bowie sadly died from liver cancer last year, just days after his 69th birthday.
He was honoured with a posthumous BRITs Icon Award in 2016 and has been nominated for two BRIT awards this year, for British Male Solo Artist and his album 'Blackstar' for Mastercard British Album of the Year.
