Olly Alexander has just been announced as the UK's Eurovision 2024 entry, and he joined Magic Breakfast with Ronan Keating and Harriet Scott to talk about all things Eurovision, his plans for Christmas and the new music on its way.

Speaking to Ronan and Harriet, Olly admitted that he's known for two months that he would be representing the UK at next year's Eurovision Song Contest. Revealing it it was so hard to keep the secret, the singer said he told his mum, but she was under strict instructions not to tell anyone!

Olly even admitted that is mum felt 'scared' after being told the news, something many of us can probably relate to!

Whilst Olly has been announced to represent the UK, the song has not been announced, however Olly has already written it, and confirmed to us that it's not a ballad. Asked to describe the song as if it was a drink, when Harriet suggested a frozen margarita, Olly replied: "It might be a frozen marg... or an amaretto sour?"

However, while we'll have to wait a bit longer to find out exactly what the song sounds like, Olly has teased some more new music saying that his new solo album is almost finished.

The singer, who has previously released music as part of Years & Years, both as a band and a solo project, is set to embark on a new solo career next year, and has been working with pop producer Danny L Harle.

"So the song that I have for Eurovision I made with Danny L Harle, who's a brilliant pop producer," Olly explained. "And we made basically did a whole album. So my whole album is almost finished... not quite, but I've got a lot of music there ready to go. So this Eurovision song, I'm just so, so, so excited it's going to be coming soon."
