LISTEN: Coldplay release new song to celebrate Chris Martin's birthday

'Hypnotised' is out now!

COLDPLAY AT THE BRITS

To celebrate frontman Chris Martin's 40th birthday Coldplay have released a beautiful new song called 'Hypnotised'.

Described by Chris as "a new non-single from the EP", 'Hypnotised' is a dreamlike ballad which will be featured on Coldplay's upcoming EP 'Kaleidoscope', which is due for release later this year.

The lyric video for the new tune was directed by Mary Wigmore, who is no stranger to Coldplay's music videos, having previously directed videos for 'Midnight' and 'The Hardest Part'.

Taking influences from the name of the EP, the video shows us underwater scenes, scenes of ethereal-looking forests and close-up shots of birds, as if looking through a kaleidoscope.

'Kaleidoscope' will be released on 2nd June and will include five songs in total.

But why did they decide to only release an EP and not a full album, I hear you ask...
