Following Loreen's second win at the Eurovision Song Contest, with her hit 'Tattoo', Sweden was announced as the next host country back in May. And now, the host city, along with the dates for the competition have been revealed.

Which city will host the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest?

For the third time, Malmö will host the Eurovision Song Contest. This is the seventh time Sweden has hosted the annual competition, since it started, with the first time being in 1975, following ABBA's triumphant win with 'Waterloo', the previous year.

When will the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest take place?

In 2024, the Eurovision Song Contest will take place on the 7th, 9th and 11th May. The dates were announced with a short video featuring clips from previous Eurovisions which have taken place in the city.

What have Eurovision said about the host city?

Eurovision Song Contest Executive Supervisor Martin Österdahl welcomed the news that Malmö would host the competition saying: "The EBU is thrilled that Malmö has been selected as the Host City for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024. Malmö holds a special place in the history of the Contest, having successfully hosted it firstly in 1992 and then in 2013 - following Loreen's last win.

"We're excited to be returning to this vibrant and dynamic city which has demonstrated it has the venues and infrastructure that are perfect for staging the world's largest live music event."

Who won Eurovision 2023?

Sweden's Loreen won Eurovision in 2023 with her song 'Tattoo', she became the first woman to win the competition twice. In an interview with us she didn't rule out representing her country in 2024!

When she was asked what the secret to success is, Loreen said it was down to "being authentic" and "having a good song". Then, when pushed on whether she would be up for representing Sweden a third time, she said: "You NEVER know!"

Mae Muller was the UK's entry for Eurovision 2023, unfortunately Mae ended up taking home just 24 points and coming second to last.

It has not yet been announced who will be representing the UK at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2024, this decision is usually announced in the year of the competition.

Will ABBA be performing at Eurovision 2024?

Although many fans had hoped ABBA would reunite in 2024 for Eurovision, as it is the 50th anniversary since they won the competition, it looks like unfortunately they won't. Speaking to Newsnight, Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson revealed they didn't want to reunite with the other two!

"I don’t want to," explained Benny: "And if I don’t want to, the others won’t. It’s the same for all four of us – (if) someone says, ‘no’ – it’s a no."
