Elton John is 'so happy' he's back in touch with estranged mother
They spent nine years out of touch!
Following Mother's Day in the US, Elton John posted a heartfelt tribute to his mum, with whom he lost contact around nine years ago.
The story goes that Sir Elton fell out of touch with his mum Sheila in 2008, when he demanded she cut ties with some of her best friends, who used to be part of his entourage before he fired them.
But thankfully those days seem to be in the past, as Sir Elton posted a sweet message to his mum on Mother's Day (in the US – don't worry, the UK had theirs in March!).
His tweet read: 'Dear Mum, Happy Mother's Day! So happy we are back in touch. Love, Elton xo #MothersDay sic'
Sir Elton was recently forced to cancel his entire performance schedule of 'The Million Dollar Piano' in April and May, due to a harmful and unusual bacterial infection.
Fortunately, the singer is making a full and complete recovery, and plans to return to the stage in Twickenham on Saturday 3rd June.

It's thought that Sir Elton and his mum Sheila managed to rekindle their relationship, after the singer spent a worrying period in hospital after his tour of South America.
