Elton John cancels all April and May performances due to 'potentially deadly infection'

Elton John cancels performances after being taken ill in South America.
Sir Elton John has been forced to cancel his entire performance schedule of 'The Million Dollar Piano' in April and May, due to a "harmful and unusual bacterial infection".
He contracted the infection during a recent tour of South America, where he performed a number of successful shows in Brazil, Argentina and Chile. On the flight back from Santiago, Chile, he became violently ill.
When Sir Elton returned to the UK, his doctors admitted him to hospital, where he received emergency treatment to remove the infection.
After spending two nights in intensive care followed by an extended stay in hospital, the singer has now luckily been released, and is now comfortably resting at home, on doctor's advice.
Elton John, Caesars Palace and AEG have apologised for any inconvenience the cancellations may cause ticket holders: "I am so fortunate to have the most incredible and loyal fans and apologise for disappointing them. I am extremely grateful to the medical team for their excellence in looking after me so well," said Elton.

Although the infection was rare and potentially deadly, Sir Elton is thankfully expected to make a full and complete recovery. He is planning to return to the stage in Twickenham, England on Saturday 3rd June.

If you purchased your ticket on a credit card: Orders purchased with a credit card for the cancelled performances will be refunded to the credit card used for purchase.
If you purchased your ticket with cash: Those who purchased tickets with cash may present tickets at the original point of sale for a refund.
