It's from their forthcoming album
Last updated 22nd Sep 2023
Duran Duran have released their new single 'Black Moonlight', which features on the band's upcoming 16th studio album 'Danse Macabre'. The new single has seen Duran Duran reunite with their friend and long-time collaborator Nile Rodgers.
Speaking about 'Black Moonlight', Duran Duran's keyboardist Nick Rhodes said: “Nile Rodgers is a force of nature. When we get into a room, we start playing, and magic happens. Nile always says that CHIC is his first band, and Duran Duran is his second. Thematically, I personally prefer the moon to the sun. Simon took the idea and ran with it.”
Simon Le Bon added: "'Black Moonlight' is this classic Duran Duran-Nile Rodgers collaboration. When Nile started playing his guitar in the studio, he really inspired everyone with his riff, and the song just kind of wrote itself."
The release of 'Black Moonlight' comes after the title track from 'Danse Macabre' was released in August. Duran Duran's 'Danse Macabre' album will be released on 27th October and features brand-new songs along with covers of tracks including Billie Eilish's 'Bury A Friend' and The Rolling Stones' 'Paint It Black'.
In addition to Nile Rodgers on 'Black Moonlight', the album will include special collaborations with former Duran Duran band members Andy Taylor and Warren Cuccurullo, Victoria De Angelis of Måneskin and producers Josh Blair and Mr Hudson.
