Crowded House release their eighth studio album 'Gravity Stairs'

Crowded House, the band behind hits like 'Weather With You' and 'Don't Dream It's Over', have now released their eighth studio album, after announcing it back in February.
On the day the band released their album, founding member Neil Finn, took to social media to share the artwork, telling the band's fans: 'I am delighted to have our new record Gravity Stairs dropping today. It’s been wrapped in swaddling clothes and feeding formula for months but now will have fend for itself and walk on its own two feet.
'We have been rehearsing in NYC, appearing on TV… Jimmy Kimmel tomorrow night, the CBS morning news on Sat Jun 15 and a live one yesterday on ABC Kelly and Mark show.'
He continued: 'The new songs are super fun to play and the tour is shaping up to be a celebration of all things real and right and true, not the least your voices added to the music… can’t wait to see you.
'In the meantime we have a lovely new video for The Howl shot on Te Henga beach with a wolfman and sword wielding goddess.

How did the band announce their album?
The band's album 'Gravity Stairs' was released on 31st May. The band took to Instagram to share the details of the new release back in February, writing: 'Crowded House - Gravity Stairs. The new album out May 31. Pre-order & pre-save now via the link in bio.'
To launch the new album, the band also held a one-off launch show, in London at O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire on 13th June, where Mick Fleetwood joined them on stage.
'Gravity Stairs' is the band's first album since 2021, when they released 'Dreamers Are Waiting'. Speaking about the new album and the songs it features, Crowded House founder Neil Finn said: "It’s a metaphor for getting a little older and becoming aware of your own mortality, your own physicality. Things are getting a little harder, and there’s more determination needed to get to the top, but there’s still the same compulsion to climb them."
The album's name comes from climbing those figurative 'gravity stairs,' inspired by a heavy stone staircase near where Neil goes on holiday.
Two weeks after releasing their album, the band have now announced a tour in support of the album.

The record will feature all of their singles, including 'Wombling USA' which was previously only available as a B side of a limited cassette release in 2000.
