Beauty And The Beast enchants UK audiences and breaks box office records
The 'Tale As Old As Time' is now the No.1 film globally.
The long-anticipated live-action remake of Beauty And The Beast came out this weekend, and it's safe to say that it absolutely blew every other musical movie out of the water – and every non-musical movie, too!
Following yesterday’s box office predication of £18.4M for the opening weekend, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast ended up taking a whopping total of £19.7M over the three-day weekend.
This magical result makes it the 5th highest grossing three-day opening of all time, and the highest grossing three-day opening weekend for a PG movie.
In the UK and Ireland it also delivered the biggest Disney live-action opening of all time, the biggest ever March opening weekend and No.1 opening of 2017 to date!

People have been raving about the live-action musical, proving that this classic story really is a tale as old as time! Beauty and the Beast now has the biggest opening ever for a musical in the UK, ahead of Universal’s Les Miserables (£8.13m).
Disney's adaptation of the classic tale refashions the original characters for a contemporary audience, staying true to the original music while updating the score with several new songs. 'Beauty and the Beast' is the fantastic journey of Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast’s hideous exterior and realises the kind heart and soul of the true Prince within.
The film stars Emma Watson as Belle, Dan Stevens as the Beast and Luke Evans as Gaston, the handsome, but shallow villager who woos Belle.

The movie also stars Oscar® winner Kevin Kline as Maurice, Belle’s eccentric, but lovable father; Josh Gad as Le Fou, Gaston’s long-suffering aide-de-camp; Golden Globe® nominee Ewan McGregor as Lumière, the candelabra; Oscar nominee Stanley Tucci as Cadenza, the harpsichord; six-time Tony Award® winner Audra McDonald as Madame De Garderobe, the wardrobe; Oscar nominee Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, the mantel clock; and two-time Academy Award® winner Emma Thompson as the teapot, Mrs. Potts.
