Giant dinosaur joins in lockdown street party
Everyone kept their (social) distance
With social distancing in full force, things can get a little boring. But one local community in Hawkwell in Essex had other ideas and decided to throw a four-hour long social distancing street party.
Taking to their driveways, residents of Heycroft Road put on their best party gear and created their own afternoon adventure. Hosted by local DJ Geoff Grove, locals were treated to four hours of music, dancing... and a giant dinosaur.
WATCH Giant dinosaur dances to Bruno Mars during lockdown street party
While everyone's definition of normal has had to shift of late, we're not sure seeing a giant dinosaur bopping along to Bruno Mars is quite what any of us expected. Filmed by Amy Underwood, the dinosaur can be seen pulling some pretty impressive moves.
However, when there's a dinosaur on the lose, it was inevitable the police were called. Residents expected the police to shut down their street party but officers found it complied by all social distancing measures and were happy to let the locals carry on, dinosaur included.
Speaking about the lockdown party, DJ Geoff said: "I've also been asked to do parties in other streets. If it brings other communities together in a safe and responsible way then I'm all for it".
Amy Underwood, who filmed some of the event, said "I didn't even ask why someone had a dinosaur costume on but I want to know now, it was massive"
We hope the DJ played plenty of T-Rex during the party!
