The Queen of Christmas chatted to Harriet on Magic Radio
Last updated 3rd Nov 2025
The Queen of Christmas Mariah Carey joined Harriet Scott on Magic Radio to chat about all things Christmas. The singer, who released her 16th studio album 'Here For It All', earlier this year, opened up about her Christmas traditions and what she likes to cook during the festive season.
Christmas wouldn't be Christmas with out Mariah's 1994 classic tune 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' ringing out, but what makes Christmas for Mariah? We just had to find out...
Revealing to Harriet that she hopes to finish work for Christmas after some planned shows, the singer went on to open up about her family's plans. "Well, we see Santa and he comes to the house and we have a whole conversation with him and I also see his reindeer, they come over," she told Harriet.
Mariah went on to say she especially likes cooking during the festive period, telling Harriet all about a dish that her late father taught her.
"Well, my father passed away, but before he did, he left me the recipe for his linguini with white clam sauce," she explained. "And I always make it because before that, I couldn't even figure it out, when he was living, he gave it to me. So that's one thing and I make turkey meatballs."
Harriet also quizzed Mariah on her thoughts on the Yorkshire puddings, and after a quick explanation of what they are, singer didn't seem 100% convinced.
When Harriet asked her which item she would go for first from her Christmas dinner, she told Harriet: "You're not giving me much choice!" Before surprising us by choosing Brussels Sprouts! The singer went on to reveal that she likes to have a seating plan for her festive meal, saying: "I just like a seating plan and I do it at the last minute," however she'll aim to put herself next to her kids.
