11 things that always happen when the family get together at Christmas
It's that time of year again!
One of the best parts of Christmas is getting all the family together – it’s fun and full of laughs and surprises. However, there always seem to be a few things that predictably happen every year. Can you relate?
Check out the 11 things that ALWAYS happen at Christmas:
1) The kids (...and sometimes adults) will try and guess the presents
2) And someone will always pick up an obvious-shaped present and go 'oh, I wonder what this is!' – yes, we know it's a Toblerone...
3) We're feeling tipsy by 10.30am, but we only sipped the sherry for the trifle! Honest!
4) There's always one person who gets all the cracker presents – how do you do it?!
5) Something will get burnt… but we smile and pretend it's delicious, because you know, it's Christmas.
6) The kids will complain about Brussels sprouts – we had to eat them so they should too!
7) The carpets always come out stained – whether it's gran with her sherry or dad with his beer, there's always spillage.
8) There will be a group nap in front of the TV – we try and stay awake for Elf, though!
9) You'll find room for more food – the rumbles will happen around 6pm for round two of the turkey and stuffing.
10) Someone will eat all the good chocolate – Christmas eating is a game, you have to be fast.
11) You'll remember just how much you love family time – we all need to get together more, guys!
