Police launch appeal following attempted kidnap near Bradford

Officers have asked a taxi driver to come forward as a potential witness

West Yorkshire Police have urged a taxi driver to come forward following the attempted kidnap of a woman near Bradford.

The incident is believed to have taken place just after 8pm on Thursday evening (September 12th) at Nab Wood in Shipley.

Poilce tell us two cars were involved- one black and one red, with a taxi driving past at the time.

Luke Stephenson, aged 34, from Moorland Terrace in Skipton, was arrested on Friday (September 13th) on suspicion of attempted kidnapping and false imprison a person with intent to commit a sexual offence.

He was later charged with the same offences, and is now due to appear before Bradford Magistrates' Court on Monday (September 16th).

Police are now keen to speak to the taxi driver as they may prove to be a significant eyewitness who could help their investigations.
