Alongside shows such as The Bay, Unforgotten and Marcella, drama series Finding Alice with Keeley Hawes, Nigel Havers and Joanna Lumley had viewers hooked when it first hit our screens in January 2021.

Although the show was renewed for a second series, with filming due to begin in February 2022, it was quietly cancelled before production started, leaving fans still wanting more from the show.

Whilst there's still no plans for the project to be picked up, there is some good news about the show, as it's now landed on another streaming platform.

How can I watch Finding Alice?

You can watch Finding Alice on ITVX and STV Player, with the show also available on Netflix from Friday 1st August 2025.

What is Finding Alice about?

Finding Alice follows the story of Alice Dillon, whose life is turned upside down when her long-term partner Harry Walsh dies suddenly after falling down the stairs of their newly built smart home—a house he designed himself.

After Harry’s unexpected death, Alice is left to navigate a confusing and emotionally charged aftermath. As she grieves, she discovers that Harry had been keeping secrets from her—financial, personal, and legal. She uncovers hidden bank accounts, complex property issues, and mysterious connections that make her question how well she really knew him.

Alice must deal not only with the overwhelming shock and grief, but also with difficult in-laws, complex legal entanglements, her curious teenage daughter Charlotte, and her eccentric parents. Her grief is compounded by the realization that Harry may not have been the man she thought he was.

As the series unfolds, Finding Alice blends dark humour, emotional drama, and mystery, focusing on how people cope with loss, secrets, and the complicated legacy left behind by those we love.

Will there be a second series?

Unfortunately not. Although it was initially renewed for a second series, plans were scrapped before filming started.

Executive Producer Nicola Shindler said at the time: "I am delighted to be able to continue telling Alice’s very original story with Roger and Simon writing and Keeley Hawes back to explore the increasingly complicated life of Alice.”

Actress Keeley Hawes, who was also an Executive Producer on the hit drama, added: “I’m so pleased to be reuniting with the brilliant team behind Finding Alice for a second series. We’ve been honoured to hear from so many viewers who have related to Alice’s experience of grief, and look forward to sharing the next stage of her journey.”

Series two was meant to pick up one year on from series one, with the show going on to 'explore the consequences of Alice deciding to have her dead husband’s baby and the impact this decision has on her friends and family.'

Sarah Doole, CEO of Red Production Company said at the time: “Finding Alice is a terrific story, brought to life through a fantastic cast and crew. It’s been a brilliant antidote to lockdown as these fantastic viewing figures show, and the team at Red Production Company can’t wait to bring more of Alice’s life to ITV viewers.”

However, it seems the show has been scrapped for good.
