Suspected gas explosion damages terraced house in east Manchester

An investigation has started into what caused a suspected gas explosion in east Manchester.
It's not thought anyone was seriously injured in the blast in the Clayton area last night.
We know emergency services were called to a terraced house in Coatbridge Street at around 6.30pm - with an air ambulance seen landing.
Firefighters tell us they spent almost three hours making the scene safe - working alongside police, paramedics and gas engineers.
There are no reports of serious injuries, but a cordon was put in place for much of last night.
Several windows can be seen missing from the affected property - and nearby residents reported being terrified by what happened.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said:
“Shortly before 6:30pm this evening (Friday 13 September), Three fire engines from Phillips Park, Blackley and Gorton fire stations were called to an incident involving a terraced house on Coatbridge Street, Manchester.
“Firefighters worked alongside Greater Manchester Police, North West Ambulance Service and Cadent Gas to make the area safe before departing after approximately 2 hour and 40 minutes.”
