Two Just Stop Oil protestors have been charged with criminal damage after soup was thrown over two Van Gogh paintings at the National Gallery in London.

Ludi Simpson who's 61 and from Shipley and Mollie Somerville who's 77 and from Manningham will appear at Westminster Magistrates on Monday (30 September) alongside a woman from Cornwall.

It follows an incident on Friday where two of the Dutch master artist's Sunflowers works had soup thrown over them - just hours after two Just Stop Oil protestors were jailed for doing the same thing in 2022.

The group which is calling for an end to the use of fossil fuels says the latest demonstration was to show solidarity with the women locked-up over the 2022.

Galley bosses say the paintings targeted on Friday were unharmed.
