Watch the incredible scenes as Wicked returns to Broadway
'Fellow Ozians, we're back...For Good!'
After such a long time without theatre, it's no surprise that audiences all over the world are rushing back to see live shows again. While the West End started opening up back in May, our friends across the pond left it a little later to return.
Last night, the Broadway production of Wicked resumed at the Gershwin Theatre in New York and it's no surprise that the audience were thrilled to be back just as much as the show's incredible company.
In a video shared on Wicked's social media we get to see the first couple of minutes of their first performance back. The audience are clapping and cheering throughout the show's overture and are ecstatic as the ensemble arrive with their 'good news'.
But if that wasn't enough, just as Glinda's bubble arrives the audience jump to their feet with a very early standing ovation! As the good witch is cheered she eventually gets to utter her first line - which has never felt more appropriate: "It's good to see me, isn't it?"
Wicked is not only back on Broadway, the West End production is also returning this week at London's Apollo Theatre.
