West End LIVE 2021: Looking back at our favourite performances

After being forced to cancel due to the pandemic, one of the biggest annual events in the theatrical calendar came back with a bang! West End LIVE returned to Trafalgar Square with one of their most impressive lineups ever.

After an incredible weekend we look back at some of the amazing performances that took place over the event.

The Prince of Egypt

Opening West End LIVE 2021 was The Prince of Egypt who brought blew us all away with their set which included 'When You Believe'.

Disney's Frozen

Having just opened on the West End, Disney's Frozen the Musical made their West End LIVE debut this year with performances of 'In Summer' and 'Love is an Open Door'. With how hot it was on Saturday, we're surprised Olaf didn't melt!

Wicked

How do you impress a West End LIVE audience? Singing 'Defying Gravity' flawlessly on a Saturday morning! The cast of Wicked never disappoint.

Hamilton

Making their West End LIVE debut was Hamilton who turned West End LIVE into a brilliant rap concert.

Les Misérables

Les Misérables, London's longest running musical made an appearance ahead of the full production returning later in September. Also we were gifted to a musical crossover when the companies of Hamilton, The Phantom of the Opera and Mary Poppins joined them for 'One Show More'.

Mamma Mia!

The cast of Mamma Mia! gave us some high energy dance moves as well as Mazz Murray blowing us all away with her performance of 'The Winner Takes It All'.

The Book of Mormon

Another West End LIVE debut from The Book of Mormon who will be back on tour in October and back on the West End in November. We also think this is West End LIVE's first baptism?

The Choir of Man

The Choir of Man turned Trafalgar Square into a giant pub - the guys will be making their West End debut in October.

Dreamgirls

The touring cast of Dreamgirls sent the crowd wild with 'One Night Only' and 'And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going'.

& Juliet

The company of & Juliet appeared ahead of their return to the Shaftesbury Theatre at the end of the month and got the crowd dancing along!

Dear Evan Hansen

Dear Evan Hansen star Sam Tutty got emotional as he performed to a live audience again ahead of the musical's return later this year.

Six

The queens of Six closed day one of West End LIVE with their first performance of the weekend and was an apt finale for such an amazing day.

Disney's The Lion King

Disney's The Lion King opened day two and helped start our Sunday on a high!

Pretty Woman the Musical

Aimie Atkinson gave an incredible performance of 'Anywhere But Here' from Pretty Woman the Musical.

The Last Five Years

Just days after opening at the Garrick Theatre, Molly Lynch and Oli Higginson performed some numbers from The Last Five Years.

Rock of Ages

The Sunset strip came to Trafalgar Square when the touring cast of Rock of Ages took to the stage.

Heathers the Musical

The final performance of West End LIVE 2021 was from Heathers the Musical which ended with an iconic performance of 'Candy Store' which included both the West End and touring Heathers!
