We now have a new date for the UK premiere of Frozen the Musical
The hit Broadway musical will finally open in London this summer
Last updated 23rd Mar 2021
Disney's Frozen the Musical had originally planned to open at the newly refurbished Theatre Royal Drury Lane back in 2020 but the show faced several delays due to the Coronavirus pandemic. However, it's now been announced that Elsa and Anna will be making their way to the West End on the 27th August.
A statement on their website reads 'We are all excited about the time when we will be back in the theatre together enjoying the magic of live performance and are in the process of contacting existing ticket holders with new dates for Frozen, which will open in August 2021. Whilst we work through this extensive reschedule, the show will remain off-sale. You can sign-up below to be the first to learn more about when tickets will become available again.'
Ticket holders have been advised not to worry as they will be contacted in the next few weeks with some revised dates to see the show.
Based on Disney's hit 2013 animated film of the same name, Frozen tells the story of sisters Elsa and Anna. Elsa causes a storm during her own coronation as she loses control of her magical ice powers which causes her to run off and hide in her ice castle. Anna, with the help of her new friends Krystof and Olaf, journey through the snow to rescue her sister.
The musical will star Samantha Barks as Elsa and include hit songs from the film such as 'Let it Go' and 'Love is an Open Door' as well as some new numbers such as 'Monster' which is sung by Elsa in the musical.
