A woman's reportedly been robbed by three men and a woman in Grimsby, and has also been seriously assaulted by one man.

It happened in the early hours of Sunday morning (29th October).

At around 12am the woman was reportedly walking near Asda on Holles Street in the town when three men and a woman approached her before stealing a gold necklace, phone and two rings.

It's believed the woman ran towards Mallard Mews via Willingham Street where one of the men reportedly followed her in a vehicle before he got out and assaulted her.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment for serious injuries which are not thought to be life changing.

Extra officers will be in the area to provide reassurance.

Detective Inspector Tom Kelly said:

“Understandably an incident of this nature will cause concern to the local community, however I want to offer my reassurance that we have already made a number of enquiries to establish the circumstances and ascertain exactly what happened.

“I’d like to thank the local community for their help with our enquiries and also their patience whilst a scene guard remains in place on Mallard Mews.

“There will continue to be a high policing presence in the area throughout the day and I would encourage anyone with information, or anyone with concerns, to please come and speak to us.

“If you have any information that may assist our lines of enquiry, and you haven’t already spoken to one of our officers, I encourage you to please all our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 441 of 29 October.”
