Woman dies following collision involving her mobility scooter near Louth

Police are asking for anyone who saw anything to get in touch with them

A woman in her eighties has died following a collision involving her mobility scooter near Louth.

Police were called out to a reports a woman and her mobility scooter were in a ditch at the side of Thoresby Road at Fulstow yesterday afternoon (Sunday 22 October).

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her next of kin are being supported by specially trained officers.

Officers are investigating how and when she left the road and are asking anyone who saw anything to get in touch with them.

Lincolnshire Police have said:

"We believe that the mobility scooter was being driven along the road, and at this stage, we are investigating the full circumstances to understand how and when she came to leave the road.

"It is believed she had been travelling westbound along Thoresby Road towards North Thoresby, from the Churchthorpe and Fulstow direction.

"We are appealing for help with that investigation. We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who might have seen a woman in her 80s on a blue mobility scooter in that area earlier that day.

"If you have dashcam and were driving around the Thorseby Road area on Sunday, please check your camera and see if there is anything which might be able to help us. We would also like to appeal to anyone who has a doorbell camera to check their footage."
