Stroke victims from Lincolnshire and Newark are backing the world's first study to determine the long-term impact of Covid-19 on survivors.

It's also looking into concerns the virus may be causing them.

Richard Lyon from Holton le Clay near Grimsby had a stroke in 2018

He's classed as clinically extremely vulnerable, has been shielding since before the lockdown and says it's had a big impact on his mental health.

He told us it was a very upsetting and frustrating experience.

The stroke made it difficult to see properly and reading a paragraph was problematic.

That was a moment Richard says was particularly overwhelming.

He's a former radio presenter and keen member of amateur dramatic groups so reading issues really hit home.

The stroke also led to other medical issues for him.

Richard say having to shield during the pandemic had a real impact on him leaving him feeling isolated and depressed.
