Skegness' MP backs threat of legal action on housing asylum seekers in hotels
East Lindsey District Council wants the Home Office to rule out taking over any more for that purpose

Skegness' MP says he backs the idea of potential legal action to stop the use of more hotels housing asylum seekers in the seaside town,
It comes as East Lindsey District Council issued a pre-action letter, suggesting they may pursue a Judicial Review if assurances aren't met in the future.
MP Matt Warman has spoken to us about the current situation.
He told us: "We shouldn't be in the position where we need to use these kind of hotels at all."
"What we have seen as a result of that is people buying up hotels specifically to offer them to the Home Office for this accommodation."
We need to see the numbers of people in this position in Skegness go down
"That seems to me to be a business model which is not one that is good."
"What we need to see is processing applications fast and getting the numbers of people coming down in the first place and finding more appropriate accommodation for them."
"Those are the big overarching things but beyond that what we do need to see is the number of people in this position in Skegness start to go down rather than up."
"It's a problem for a places which are built on hotels and entertainment and all that goes with the leisure industry and that is changed if you change hotels into what are effectively hostels."
